Its All In The Detail

Alex P. Gath was born and bred in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. He worked for a large firm of architects in Sheffield, principally assisting the design team leaders preparing schemes for large retail developments in and around Sheffield, West Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.

Following a period of voluntary work assisting with the establishment of a conservation and wildlife park in an inner city environment, Alex relocated to South Devon, working for an established practice for twelve years. During that time, Alex developed a respect for traditional materials and vernacular architecture with the conversion of farm buildings, a specific interest.

Alex P. Gath set up his practice in 1999 and has consistently undertaken in the region of 100 plus commissions per year for local, regional, national and international projects.

The design treatment for new and existing buildings is all in the detail. Adopting the sympathetic approach, in close consultation with local authorities in the region, has paid dividends for past and current clients.
